About

Poché d+d is a freelance design + drafting business I established to enable me to provide high-quality, freelance CAD drawings, and 3D models and renderings to anyone in an affordable, approachable way. The number and type of drawings can be limited to just those that you require or expanded to include an entire permit set and design details.

My goals are to address the increased need for electronic copies of drawings required by local governments for permit applications and those required by homeowners’ associations, as well as to assist homeowners and builders with detailed drawings to clarify design details and ease decision making.

Angela Logan

Architectural Drafter + Designer

I have had many years of work (and life) experience including a life-long hobby of drawing floor plans and, now, over 5 years of professional CAD drawing experience at an architectural firm and in my freelance work. Essentially, I’ve turned a love of architectural floor plans and home and interior design into a job that I enjoy. I love drawing and designing buildings, particularly houses and their components. I also enjoy selecting finish materials and colors.

Poché?

Poché is pronounced ‘pō-shā’.

noun. The walls, columns, and other solids of a building or the like, as indicated on an architectural plan, usually in black (white on blueprints). –Dictionary.com

French, from past participle of ‘pocher’ to sketch roughly –Merriam Webster.com

The term poche (English) or poché (French) refers to filled, hatched, or shaded, areas on architectural drawings to indicate that they cut through an element that is typically, but not always, solid, such as a wall, floor, column, beam, etc. This centuries-old technique is generally used to clarify sections or plans that cut through a building by distinguishing between occupiable and non-occupiable spaces.
